Pearl Disability Care – A passion to support our community through the NDIS

Pearl Disability Care is a part of the Pearl Home Care family, an organisation that stands out in offering unwavering commitment to Australians in need. Since launching in 2019, Pearl has become one of Australia’s most reputable in-home care agencies through our commitment to fostering a sense of dignity, independence and warmth for its clients. Starting with a small family team in Perth with two offices, Pearl is now delivering exceptional care services from almost 40 across Australia, and continues to grow without compromising the personalised, compassionate family care that set Pearl apart from the outset.

Expanding our services into NDIS

Pearl Disability Care is now proud to be delivering our high-quality care to participants on the NDIS throughout Australia. Pearl’s ability to deliver personalised care, working closely with participants to meet expectations and enhance quality of life makes us a first choice in choosing a NDIS provider for you or your loved ones.

Pearl Disability Care is a wholly Australian-owned organisation, founded by the Shehade family in Western Australia, with a collective 35 years of expertise in the health, allied health and disability and aged care sectors. Pearl began with a motivation to provide world-class senior and disability care at home so that elderly Australians and those in need could remain at home, living with independence, dignity and ease.

From these first ambitions, a commitment was made to start a business representing trust, inclusion, affordability and flexibility, while reflecting a friendly Australian local charm. As the business has expanded, these pillars have remained at the core, informing all decisions as growth continues.

Ageing-in-place and in-home disability care are relatively new approaches in our community, but ones that have come to the forefront as best practices in maintaining positive and respectful living situations for all Australians. While many providers in Australia are internationally owned, from the outset Pearl recognised the importance of having an Australian, local voice that was committed to helping individuals in familiar ways. This has always set Pearl apart from other providers and supported the company’s growth across the country.

As Pearl expands, so does the national network of exceptional professionals. Pearl carers and support workers are all rigorously checked professionals whom our community can trust and safely welcome into their home.

Australia is progressing and so is our community. This is represented with more diversity than ever seen before. Since its founding, Pearl has maintained a dedication to the inclusion of all Australians, embracing the diverse range of cultures and lifestyle choices that collectively shape our distinctive communities.

Over recent years, Pearl has grown nationwide and now has a broad network of clients and carers. This has allowed Pearl to ensure that each client is paired with a respectful match that meets their expectations and needs.

About the NDIS

About the NDIS

The NDIS is the Australian Government’s disability insurance scheme, providing funding directly to those eligible to meet specialised needs and requirements when living with a disability as caused by permanent impairment.

It is available to all Australians who meet eligibility criteria and has been designed to improve quality of life and to help personalise how best to support an individual to manage life as they see fit.

Who is eligible for the NDIS?

The NDIS offers financial support to Australians, who live in Australia, between the ages of 9 and 65 who are facing disability due to permanent impairment. We can become impaired in various ways including physically, emotionally, intellectually, neurologically and/or psychosocially.

Financial support from the NDIS can be used in different ways to best support living with a disability. These supports may be disability-specific to the individual or resources for the family or carers to help their loved ones in need.

Eligibility to participate needs to be ascertained based on:

  • age: participants need to be between 9 and 65 years of age
  • citizenship: participants need to be Australian citizens, or permanent residents or hold a protected special visa
  • living: participants need to be permanently living in Australia
  • needs: have a disability caused by permanent impairment

What is the process for applying?

Applications to participate in the NDIS are made directly with the NDIS. Applications can be made in writing via an Access Request Form online, or verbally by speaking directly with an NDIS advisor, by calling 1800 800 110. The NDIS also offer additional help with the application process, including interpreter services, help with connecting to relevant community partners and partner offices.

Finding a provider

Once funding is determined and a plan in place, connecting with a high quality, reputable NDIS provider is the assured way to receive the support and requirements needed. The provider is going to play a critical role in ensuring you receive the best of care and service delivery to support and improve quality of life, so it’s important to find a quality match with experience and expertise.

An NDIS provider should be approached like building a trusted, personalised relationship. As an NDIS participant, it’s important to feel you are choosing a provider who will always have your best interests front of mind, can offer the services noted on your plan and have the qualifications and quality to support your disability-related needs.

Aligning to a provider that offers the right flexibility and adaptability to support individual needs is also important as no two people are the same. A quality provider is one who will show friendly adaptability to meet individual requirements and help to improve the quality of life by being attentive and proactive.

As a registered NDIS provider, Pearl Disability Care has the experience, expertise and quality to support NDIS participants to meet their individual needs and supports. Pearl is one of Australia’s fastest growing care providers, known Australia-wide for providing friendly, personalised, high-quality care to those in need.
